ZIMTRADE STATEMENT ON CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

The global pandemic, coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected many countries and institutions. It is encouraging that most countries, institutions and individuals are taking all possible actions to stop the spread of the virus. We remain confident that together, we will stop the virus.

As Zimbabwe’s trade development and promotion organisation, we are taking necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus. We are deeply invested in the well-being of our stakeholders as well as our staff.

How to stop the spread of COVID-19

The fight against the virus requires the active participation of all. In playing your part, you must:

1. Continue to practice basic and good hygiene practices, particularly washing hands under running water with soap and/or sanitiser,
2. Avoid touching the face, mouths, nose and eyes,
3. Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze,
4. Maintain social distance, at least 1 metre distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
5. Avoid unnecessary travels,
6. Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell,
7. If showing symptoms, seeks medical assistance immediately.
