For the third time consecutively ZimTrade, Zimbabwe’s trade development and promotion organisation, has led a group of ten (10) companies to participate at the Agritech Expo which is being held in Chisamba, Zambia from 12-14 April 2018.
The show kicked off yesterday on a high note. The Zimbabwe Pavillion was a hive of activity, with visitors from various countries showing great interest in Zimbabwean products.
“Today has been an indication that the show will most likely capture plenty clients for us in this market as we have already received a lot of meaningful enquiries,” said Mr. Austin Tigere of Mono Pumps Zimbabwe.
“Zambia has always been a fruitful market for our products and we are certain this Expo will bridge more opportunities for export.” He added.
Under the ZimTrade banner this year are companies which are showcasing fertilisers, agro-chemicals, agricultural machinery and implements among others. The companies exhibiting include, Agricura, Proplastics, ZFC, Mono Pumps, Almin Metals, Hastt Zimbabwe, William Bain Holdings, Mealie Brand, Arthur Garden Engineering and Windmill Ltd.
The show started off with a seminar covering ‘Trade and export opportunities within SADC region and beyond’. Discussions were held around how best to curb and solve the impediments to global trade as well as how best to improve the ease of doing business worldwide.
“Trade relates to the opening and closing of borders for the purposes of exchange and therefore, we need to begin with creating policies which allow the free flow of goods between continents. Expos like Agritech will begin the business process, however, we now need to put our heads together at a global level and strategise how we can make trade flow” expressed one of the attendees at the seminar.
The Agritech Expo is a specialised exhibition for the agricultural sector value chain. The focus of the show is mainly on creating a business-to-business platform for agricultural professionals, from small-scale farmers to commercial enterprises.
